The Saturday at Greinbach in Austria did not start too well for Peter Hedström, the 8th fastest time in the Timed Practice and the 9th fastest time in the 1st Heat was not what the Škoda Fabia Mk2 SuperCar campaigner was looking for. However, the Sunday brought better results. After the Swede set the 5th fastest time in the 2nd Heat and the 4th quickest time in the 3rd he had qualified straight into the all decisive A final.

Immediately after the GO of the last race of the all sunny weekend Hedström shot as fifth driver into the first corner, and in the proceedings was able to power himself into the top three of the pack. But the luck was not with the man from Torsby in Sweden, after two laps one of the Fabia drive-shafts gave up to slow down Hedström and his 550+bhp SuperCar.

It did not take long and Briton Liam Doran was chasing the Škoda with his Citroën DS3. When the two cars had a short contact another drive-shaft called it a day and Peter eventually had to throw in the towel in the fourth lap, leaving the Styrian town of Greinbach with 11 ERC points for his 6th place overall. Next weekend Hedström will be at Nyirád in Hungary for ERC round 4.
