With the second place overall of the SuperCars category in his native Swedish ERC round at Höljes, just 100 km to the north of his hometown of Torsby, Värmland man Peter Hedström has claimed his best European Rallycross Championship result ever.
“Yes, this is really a dream come true. I remember very well when I was a little boy and was biking around among all these famous people up there in Höljes. Already then I decided that someday I’ll compete here, just like those Hansen’s, Eklund’s, and all the other grown-ups and Rallycross legends who competed by then. And that I would drive in the main class and would take a place on the winners’ podium after the chequered flag of the A final had been dropped. Now, 20 years later, the dream of my childhood has become reality. I cannot describe how happy I am that all went so well on home soil. But now I’ll just take a break and rest myself, but with my focus already set on another A final in the next event I’m going to enter,” said the proud Škoda Fabia Mk2 SuperCar driver today.
